React Web Platform
A production web app built from scratch, from architecture through Docker and Kubernetes deployment on AWS.
- Context
- PT. Mitra Mulia Makmur
- Areas
- Frontend, Backend, DevOps
- React
- Node.js
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- AWS
Problem
The business needed a new web application, built from scratch, that could grow with it and be deployed reliably.
My role
Senior Software Engineer. I owned the application end to end, from architecture through deployment.
Architecture
01
React app
Single-page web client
02
Node.js API
RESTful services
03
Database
SQL / NoSQL via ORM
04
AWS + Kubernetes
Containerized deployment
Key decisions
- React front end on a REST API. A clear contract between client and server let each side change independently.
- Docker and Kubernetes on AWS. Containerized services gave consistent environments and repeatable deploys.
- Automated tests. Unit tests and test automation protected releases from regressions.
Tech stack
React · Node.js · SQL / NoSQL · Docker · Kubernetes · AWS
Outcome
The platform went from an empty repository to a production deployment on AWS under my ownership.
Lessons
- Owning a system end to end makes trade-offs visible: decisions in the front end show up in the API, the database, and the deployment.
Details are kept general because this was internal company software.
